There are several different types of breast implants available today. Choosing which one is best for you can be a difficult decision. Dr. Colon and her experienced team explain your options, discuss your goals, and advise you so you can select the implants that are right for your individual needs. Each woman is unique, and whichever type of implants you choose is a very personal decision.
Breast implants are available in the following options:
Dr. Colon performs breast augmentation under IV sedation, since it is an invasive surgical procedure. In some cases, you can get breast augmentation as an outpatient, or you may need to stay overnight in the hospital. Typically, the entire procedure takes an hour or two, and you’ll be asleep and pain-free during the surgery.
After surgery, your breasts are covered with gauze and you may have drainage tubes that Dr. Colon removes after a few days. For up to six weeks, you shouldn’t do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity as your body heals from the surgery. You may feel pain and discomfort and have some swelling, but that will go away over time. Your scars should fade, too.
Deciding that you want breast augmentation is a personal choice that only you can make. There is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Discuss your questions, expectations, and any concerns you have with Dr. Colon and the medical team at Evolve Wellness & Aesthetics Center, so you can be sure you’re making the choice that’s best for you.
